MIT Solve
MIT Solve seeks innovative, tech-based solutions to equitably adapt to a warming climate and decarbonize how we live and eat, offering grants and prizes.
The MIT Solve 2027 Global Climate Challenge invites innovators worldwide to develop impactful solutions for the urgent climate crisis. This challenge focuses on equitable adaptation strategies and decarbonization across critical areas, including low-carbon and climate-resilient cities, protection against extreme climate hazards, transformation of agrifood systems, and sustainable use of ocean and coastal environments.
Decades of delayed climate action have made adaptation critically urgent, with significant emissions stemming from food systems, urban development, and industrial practices. Communities globally face escalating heat, flooding, drought, and wildfires, often with limited resources. Solutions are needed that can be implemented within existing systems, budgets, and infrastructure, demonstrating both impact and financial sustainability.
MIT Solve welcomes diverse technologies, from advanced robotics and AI to traditional and natural knowledge systems, that can improve monitoring, enhance infrastructure, optimize resource management, and strengthen community resilience. The program seeks human-centered and tech-based innovations that expand local capabilities and foster trusted decision-making to build low-carbon systems, protect biodiversity, and help communities thrive in a changing climate. Entrepreneurs and teams from all backgrounds are encouraged to apply with innovative ideas that address these pressing global challenges.
