Gujarat Student Startup and Innovation Hub (i-Hub)
Provides financial assistance up to ₹5 lakh to student innovators and startups in Gujarat for securing Intellectual Property Rights under the SSIP 2.0 policy.
The Education Department, Government of Gujarat, through its Student Startup and Innovation Policy (SSIP 2.0), has allocated a substantial corpus of INR 500 Crores to foster innovation and support early-stage student innovators and startups. This specific initiative, the Financial Assistance for Intellectual Property (IP) Support, is a flagship program by i-Hub designed to alleviate the financial burden associated with IP protection. It offers structured financial assistance to help innovators and startups secure crucial Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs) for their novel ideas and technologies. The scheme aims to bridge the gap from an idea and Proof of Concept (PoC) to the product/market stage by enabling protection of innovations.
This grant scheme is crucial for fostering an environment where innovative concepts are not only developed but also legally protected, ensuring that startups can confidently build their businesses around their unique intellectual assets. It promotes a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship by providing the necessary financial backbone for IP registration, which is often a significant upfront cost for emerging ventures. By covering these costs, i-Hub and the Government of Gujarat empower next-generation entrepreneurs to safeguard their intellectual capital and enhance their competitive edge in the market.
