Startup Karnataka
A grant of up to ₹1 crore for startups in Karnataka collaborating with academia and industry on research and development projects under the Triple Helix Model.
The Research and Development Project Grant, an initiative under the Karnataka Startup Policy 2025-2030, aims to catalyze cutting-edge innovation by supporting collaborative R&D projects. This grant is specifically designed for startups operating within Karnataka who form a consortium with academic/research institutions and industry partners. The core objective is to foster a 'Triple Helix Model' of innovation, bringing together the strengths of industry, academia, and startups to drive significant technological advancements and create a vibrant R&D ecosystem in the state. By co-funding up to 50% of eligible project costs, capped at ₹1 crore, the program seeks to de-risk ambitious research initiatives and accelerate their translation into market-ready solutions.
This grant supports the development of novel products, processes, and services that address critical challenges across various sectors. The collaborative approach ensures that research is grounded in real-world industry needs while benefiting from academic rigor. The Government of Karnataka is committed to nurturing a robust innovation environment, and this grant serves as a cornerstone of that vision, empowering startups to push the boundaries of technology and contribute to the state's economic growth and global competitiveness.
