Department of Industries and Commerce, Government of Tripura
Tripura reimburses 4% or 5% of interest paid on term loans, with a yearly ceiling of Rs.5.00 lakhs (non-thrust) or Rs.12.00 lakhs (thrust).
The Tripura Industrial Investment Promotion Incentives Scheme, 2022 offers a partial reimbursement of interest on term loans to eligible industrial enterprises in Tripura. This record is that interest incentive (section 5). It is not a new loan from the State and not a guarantee. You borrow from a lender on ordinary terms, pay the interest, and then claim a slice of that interest back from the Department of Industries and Commerce.
For the Non-Thrust Sector the clause reimburses 4% of interest paid on the term loan, with an upper ceiling of Rs.5.00 lakhs per enterprise per annum. For the Thrust Sector it reimburses 5% of interest paid on the term loan, with an upper ceiling of Rs.12.00 lakhs per enterprise per annum. The percentages are the reimbursement rates stated in the policy, not a rewrite of the bank's contract rate. The highest rupee ceiling in the clause is Rs.12.00 lakhs (Thrust Sector).
Only enterprises that have actually drawn a term loan and paid interest can claim. Working-capital interest is not named in this clause; the wording is interest paid on term loan. Keep the sanction letter, disbursement proof, interest certificates, and bank statements. Non-Thrust and Thrust Sector units both qualify, at the different rate and ceiling pairs above.
File on SWAAGAT and through the District Industries Centre. TIIPIS 2022 is rolling; there is no deadline in this clause. The State does not take equity for this subsidy and does not ask the reimbursed interest back if the unit stays eligible. Defaulting on the term loan is a matter between you and the lender; this claim only reimburses a stated share of interest already paid, within the yearly ceiling.
