Tripura Power Charges Reimbursement

Tripura supports industrial power bills at Rs.5.00 per unit with no ceiling above 20 HP, or 25% reimbursement up to Rs.15 / Rs.25 lakhs a year up to 20 HP.

Under the Tripura Industrial Investment Promotion Incentives Scheme, 2022, industrial units in Tripura can claim support on power charges. This record is that power-charges incentive (section 4). The rate depends on connected load — above 20 HP versus up to 20 HP — and, for the smaller-load band, on whether the enterprise is Non-Thrust or Thrust Sector.

For industrial units with connected load above 20 HP, power charges will be provided at Rs.5.00 per unit without any upper ceiling. That Rs.5.00 per unit figure is a rate per unit of electricity. It is not a lump-sum award and is not treated here as a total rupee grant. There is no rupee cap stated for this above-20 HP band.

For industrial units with connected load up to 20 HP, the State reimburses 25% of the power charges actually paid, subject to an upper ceiling of Rs.15 lakhs for a Non-Thrust Sector enterprise and Rs.25 lakhs for a Thrust Sector enterprise, per annum. In that band you pay the bill first and claim a quarter of it back, cut off at those yearly ceilings.

The claimant is the industrial unit in Tripura, not a housing colony or a commercial shop that happens to share a feeder. Keep connected-load documents from the licensee, monthly electricity bills, and payment proof. Thrust versus Non-Thrust only changes the Rs.15 lakhs / Rs.25 lakhs ceiling in the up-to-20 HP band; the above-20 HP band is Rs.5.00 per unit with no upper ceiling in the clause.

Apply through SWAAGAT and the District Industries Centre. TIIPIS 2022 is rolling; this clause has no deadline. The Department of Industries and Commerce, Government of Tripura checks load, bills, and sector band before release. This is a subsidy, not equity and not a loan. Because the headline rate is per unit, this record does not set a total award floor or ceiling in rupees.
