Jharkhand Electricity Duty Reimbursement

Jharkhand MSME Policy 2023 reimburses 100% of electricity duty for five years from the start of commercial production.

Clause 6.6 of the Jharkhand MSME Promotion Policy 2023 gives industrial units full relief on electricity duty during their early operating years.

The State reimburses 100% of the electricity duty paid by the unit for 5 years from the date of commencement of commercial production. The benefit is therefore proportional to the unit's own power consumption — the policy sets no rupee ceiling, only the 100% rate and the five-year window.

Because the clock starts at commencement of commercial production, a unit should date its claims from that milestone rather than from incorporation or from the start of construction.
