IIT Palakkad Technology IHub Foundation (IPTIF)
The Entrepreneurship-in-Residence (EiR) Programme by IPTIF supports early-stage innovators developing sustainable, affordable, climate-responsive, and technology-driven solutions for housing and construction with a monthly grant and incubation support.
The Housing & Construction Innovation Entrepreneurship-in-Residence (EiR) Programme is a flagship initiative led by IIT Palakkad Technology IHub Foundation (IPTIF), in collaboration with Habitat for Humanity International’s Terwilliger Center for Innovation in Shelter (TCIS) and Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM). This program is designed to identify and support early-stage innovators and ventures that are developing groundbreaking solutions for the housing and construction sector.
The core objective of the EiR Programme is to foster innovations that significantly improve how people access, experience, use, maintain, finance, power, cool, manage, and sustain housing. It seeks to bring forth technology-driven solutions that are sustainable, affordable, and climate-responsive, addressing critical challenges within the housing ecosystem. This includes enabling technologies and construction-related innovations that ultimately lead to a clear and positive housing outcome.
The program's focus areas encompass a wide range of critical needs: Digital Housing & Construction (PropTech, housing finance/FinTech, IoT & data), Thermal Comfort & Livability (passive cooling, ventilation, insulation, indoor air quality, climate-responsive solutions), Energy & Household Solutions (energy efficiency, decentralised energy, clean cooking), Water & Sanitation (purification, management, sanitation), and Sustainable & Climate-Resilient Housing & Construction (low-carbon materials, advanced construction technologies, circularity principles, disaster resilience). Through this comprehensive approach, IPTIF aims to accelerate the development and deployment of impactful solutions that can transform the future of living spaces.
