The Prakriti Incubation Launchpad Cohort 2, a flagship program by IIM Calcutta Innovation Park (IIMCIP) in partnership with Pernod Ricard India Foundation (PRIF), is meticulously designed to foster sustainable business solutions in India's critical North Eastern Region. This initiative specifically targets nascent enterprises committed to addressing pressing environmental challenges while concurrently generating sustainable livelihoods for local communities. The program aims to support innovative startups that contribute significantly to environmental conservation, inclusive economic growth, climate resilience, and sustainable industrial development within the region, proactively tackling issues such as rapid urbanization, inefficient resource management, limited waste infrastructure, environmental degradation, and pollution.

Key focus areas for this cohort are strategically aligned with regional needs: Green Manufacturing, which actively encourages the adoption of energy-efficient, low-carbon, and resource-optimized production processes; Recycling and Upcycling of Waste, by supporting groundbreaking solutions that convert various forms of agricultural, industrial, and consumer waste into high-value-added products; Cleantech Solutions, an umbrella category encompassing renewable energy applications, advanced water and wastewater management, air quality solutions, and climate-resilient technologies; and the Promotion of Local and Indigenous Resources, by enabling enterprises to responsibly harness regional raw materials, traditional knowledge, and local skills to create market-ready, scalable, and environmentally sustainable products and services.

IIMCIP, serving as the implementing partner, plays a pivotal role in identifying and nurturing scalable startups. Their expertise covers comprehensive assessment of market and investment readiness, alongside providing extensive one-on-one mentoring support. The program offers strategic guidance on critical aspects such as product development, effective customer identification, and robust pricing strategies, ensuring that participating startups are thoroughly equipped for successful market entry and sustainable growth.
