GENESIS (Gen-Next Support for Innovative Startups)

About This Scheme

Status: active. A MeitY scheme approved with a budgetary outlay of Rs 490 crore over 5 years to support approximately 1,600 tech startups from Tier-II/III cities, particularly those led by women and first-time entrepreneurs. Offers three funding tracks: early-stage support with no matching-fund requirement, pilot funding, and a matching fund for startups that have raised institutional capital.

Eligibility Criteria

  • DPIIT-registered startups
  • Eligible stage: early stage
  • Eligible stage: growth
  • Shareholding by Indian promoters must be at least 51% at the time of application

Benefits

Multi-tier funding: early-stage support up to Rs 10 lakh (no matching fund required), pilot funding averaging Rs 40 lakh up to Rs 50 lakh, and a matching fund contribution of up to Rs 50 lakh for startups that have raised institutional capital.
