Mahila Samruddhi Yojana (DAADC)

Development Corporation for Rabari/Bharwad and Allied Castes, Government of Gujarat (DAADC)

About This Scheme

The Mahila Samruddhi Yojana, implemented by DAADC under the Government of Gujarat, offers concessional loans of ₹50,000 to Scheduled Caste women for establishing micro or small self-employment ventures.

The Mahila Samruddhi Yojana is a pivotal initiative by the Dr. Ambedkar Antyodaya Development Corporation (DAADC), operating under the Social Justice and Empowerment Department of the Government of Gujarat. This scheme is meticulously designed to address the socio-economic disparities faced by women belonging to the Antyodaya Samaj, particularly those from Scheduled Castes. Its primary objective is to foster financial independence and promote self-employment among these marginalized women.

By providing access to capital in the form of concessional loans, the Yojana aims to empower women to start and sustain their own small-scale businesses. This not only creates income-generating opportunities but also contributes to the overall economic upliftment of their families and communities. The scheme recognizes the entrepreneurial spirit within these communities and provides the necessary financial thrust to convert business ideas into tangible realities.

The initiative is crucial for bridging the financial gap and enabling women to become active participants in the economic landscape. It emphasizes a bottom-up approach to development, focusing on individual empowerment to catalyze broader societal change. The supportive structure of the loan, including a significant state government contribution, makes it accessible to those who might otherwise be excluded from traditional financial systems, thereby reinforcing the government's commitment to inclusive growth and social justice.

Benefits

  • This scheme provides a loan amount of ₹50,000 to eligible women for initiating or expanding micro or small businesses.
  • The loan is offered at a highly concessional interest rate of 6% per annum, making it affordable for target beneficiaries.
  • A significant benefit is the State Government's contribution, bearing 95% (i.e., ₹47,500) of the loan amount, while the beneficiary contributes only 5% (₹2,500).
  • The repayment period is structured over 36 months (3 years), with a possible monthly installment of approximately ₹1,445.
