The scheme 'Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali Paryatan Swarojgar Yojana' was launched by the Department of Tourism, Government of Uttarakhand, with the primary objective of fostering self-employment and entrepreneurship within the state's burgeoning tourism sector. It targets unemployed residents of Uttarakhand, offering crucial financial assistance and subsidies for the development of diverse tourism-related infrastructure and services. This initiative aims to leverage Uttarakhand's natural and cultural attractions to create sustainable livelihoods and strengthen the local economy. The program is applicable across all regions of Uttarakhand, ensuring broad access to its benefits for eligible residents.
The scheme encompasses support for both vehicle items, such as ordinary and electric buses, taxis, and max cabs, and a wide array of non-vehicle items. Non-vehicle items include the establishment of hotels/paying guest accommodations, motor garages/workshops, fast food centers, Sadhna Kutir Yoga Meditation centers, adventure activities, modern tourist information centers, tented residential facilities, sales centers for local handicrafts, bakeries, laundries, as well as equipment for terrain biking, stargazing, bird watching, herbal tourism, kayaking/boating, and angling. It also supports caravan/motor home tourism, the construction of museums and souvenir centers, and floating hotels. Applicants are encouraged to propose innovative projects that align with the unique attractions and characteristics of their specific areas within Uttarakhand.
