Goa Startup Mission
Goa Startup Mission offers an equity co-investment of 25% matching funds, up to ₹25 lakh, for Goa-based pre-product launch startups that have raised prior funding from a recognized source.
The "Matching Grant Scheme" is an initiative by the Department of Information Technology, Electronics and Communications, Government of Goa, aimed at supporting startups within Goa. This scheme provides matching funds to startups that have successfully raised capital from a registered or recognized funding source before their product officially launches. The government, through the Start-up Promotion Cell (SPC), will contribute 25% of the funds raised by the startup, with a maximum benefit capped at INR 25,00,000 (INR 25 lakh). This contribution is structured as an equity co-investment, meaning the SPC/Government acquires proportionate ownership of stock in the startup. This investment follows a thorough due diligence process conducted by the SPC.
This benefit is available to 20 selected startups annually, subject to SPC's due diligence and guidelines. Once an application is approved by the SPC, the funds are typically disbursed within 60 days. The SPC retains the sole right to approve or reject applications, and the benefits are not considered an entitlement.
