Awards at University of Waikato 2026

To be eligible, applicants must: Be enrolled full-time in a graduate (Hons, PGDip or Masters) degree in the Te Pua Wānanga ki te Ao - Faculty of Māori and Indigenous Studies, in the year of application (in exceptional circumstances, part-time enrolment may be considered); Be undertaking a dissertation or thesis; Have a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of A-, and, Be a New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or international student.

Value

  • The scholarship awarded is Up to $5,000 towards living allowances and also the tuition fees. Selection Criteria
  • The applicants are selected based on their academic merit.
  • He/She should have a minimum grade average of A–, in the previous two years (240 points) of full-time study or equivalent if part-time.
  • Candidates who already completed the entry qualifications for Master's and Doctoral study are given preference for their respective course-level applications.
  • Application Deadline: 15 Jul 2026
