The University of Wollongong is offering HDR Scholarships - University Postgraduate Award (UPA) at UOW, 2025 to eligible higher degree research students.

Eligibility Criteria

• Applicant must be enrolled in a Higher Degree Research program at the university.
• The applicant may be admitted full-time or part-time.
• An International applicant must meet visa requirements specified by the Department of Home Affairs.
• The applicant must not be receiving an equivalent scholarship or salary providing a benefit greater than 75% of the award deemed to undertake the research program.

International applications: 23 May, and Domestic applications: 3 October.

Value of the Scholarship

• The selected candidates are awarded an annual stipend mentioned in the offer letter.
• Part-time award holders are entitled to the approved part-time stipend rate, which is not exempt from taxation.
• Full-time award holders are entitled to the stipend rate (tax-free). 2026 Stipend $36,943 p.a., non-taxable for full-time candidates.
• Stipends are indexed annually.
