Eligibility Criteria for Achievement Fellowship Program (UCLA Law)

  • Applicants must: Be applying for admission to the Juris Doctor (J.D.) program at UCLA School of Law.
  • Demonstrate strong academic achievement and high potential for success in law school.
  • Have overcome significant obstacles or disadvantages.
  • Complete the UCLA School of Law application.
  • Submit an additional one-page essay describing the obstacles they have overcome and why they are a strong candidate for the fellowship.
  • Take the LSAT or GRE no later than November 30, 2026.
  • Apply by the fellowship application deadline.
  • Not apply through the Early Decision program (applicants may apply to the Distinguished Scholars Program).

Value of Achievement Fellowship Program (UCLA Law)

  • The fellowship provides full tuition and mandatory fees for three academic years.
  • California residents receive full resident tuition and fees for all three years.
  • Non-residents receive full non-resident tuition and fees in the first year and full resident tuition and fees in the second and third years, subject to residency qualification requirements.
  • The UCLA Health Insurance Fee is not included.

Application Process

Complete and submit the UCLA School of Law J.D. application. Take the LSAT or GRE by November 30, 2026. Submit all required application materials by December 15, 2026.
