Eligibility Criteria for Amirana Scholarship

  • Applicants must: Be an international student from a low- or middle-income country (Global South as defined by the DAC List).
  • Be enrolled in Medicine or Dentistry at Heidelberg University (Heidelberg or Mannheim campuses).
  • Be in temporary financial distress caused by circumstances beyond their control, or require support in the final phase of studies.
  • Be at risk of being unable to continue or complete their studies without financial assistance.
  • Not be classified as an “educational resident”.

  • Intended to support living costs or study continuation rather than full-degree funding.
  • Can be re-awarded in cases of renewed hardship or final-year support needs.
