Scholarship value: Full Funding, Salary + Research expenses Academic Medical Centre is offering the AMC MD/PhD Scholarship to students who wish to pursue an MD/PhD at the University of Amsterdam.

Eligibility for AMC MD/PhD Scholarship

Eligible for the MD/PhD program 2026 are students who: Started the Bachelor's degree program in Medicine in the academic year 2023-2024 Started the pre-master program in Summer 2025 and Have not yet started clinical internships and will not start their clinical internships before March 1, 2027 Have not yet completed their scientific internship and Will obtain a Bachelor's or pre-master's degree in Medicine before January 1, 2027

Documents required

• A letter describing reasons to apply and how they meet the requirements.
• Application form with research proposal and list of publications.
• CV along with a bachelor's degree transcript or an equivalent degree.
• Written confirmation from the intended Ph.D. supervisor.
• Letter of recommendation from a PI of AMC.

Value of the Scholarship

The MD/PhD scholarship covers the costs of the salary of an MD/PhD student for two and a half years, plus limited additional research expenses.
