The Arunachal Pradesh Scholarship for Academic Excellence supports meritorious APST students in pursuing UG, PG, PhD, and Post-Doctoral studies at top global universities, reducing financial barriers and enhancing opportunities for research, internships, and global exposure.

Eligibility Criteria for Arunachal Pradesh Scholarships for Academic Excellence

• Applicants must: Be an Indian citizen and a permanent resident of Arunachal Pradesh.
• Belong to a tribe recognized as a Scheduled Tribe of Arunachal Pradesh (or in the case of a minor, the father must belong to such a tribe).
• Have secured admission or a letter of acceptance from a university: Ranked within Top 150 QS World University Rankings overall, or Ranked within Top 150 in the specific subject.
• Be enrolling in full-time UG, PG, PhD, or Post-Doctoral courses.
• Preference is given to STEM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering, Management).
• Not have secured admission prior to the notification of the guidelines.

Applicants must

Covers 75% of the total cost incurred by the student annually, including

• Tuition fees
• On-campus residence fees
• Personal health insurance
• Visa charges
• One-time round-trip airfare

Additional options

• Subsistence allowance: ₹12 lakhs/year or Soft loan: Remaining 25% of the cost guaranteed by the Government of Arunachal Pradesh
• Students can supplement with Research/Teaching Assistantships as per university rules.

Commissioner/Secretary, Department of Higher and Technical Education, Arunachal Pradesh, or Nodal officer appointed by the Department.

• Department processes applications within 7 working days.
• Scholarship payments are sent directly to the university or student’s bank account.
