  • Scholarship value: Partial Funding, up to NZD 10,000 Auckland University of Technology (AUT) offers postgraduate scholarships to promote postgraduate study and research and honor its students' academic excellence. AUT
  • Students pursuing studies at Level 8 (Bachelor Honours Degree) or Level 9 (Master's Degree) of the New Zealand Qualifications Framework (NZQF) who have shown the ability to succeed highly may apply for a postgraduate research scholarship.
  • Students planning to enroll in a program of study with a research component worth at least 30 points (or higher) for a bachelor's with honors degree or 45 points (or higher) for a master's degree are eligible for the scholarships.

Eligibility for AUT Post Graduate Research Scholarship

  • Applicants enrolling in the qualified program for the first time will receive preference.
  • Applicants must plan to enroll in full-time studies and have finished their qualifying program at AUT or another New Zealand higher institution.

Documents Required

  • A one-page personal statement outlining the applicant’s academic goals, motivation interest in research study, and career aspirations stating why they believe they merit the scholarship.
  • If the applicant applies for a Master of Philosophy or Masters’ by 120pts thesis, their approved PGR1. - If the applicant is applying under the category Māori or Pacific, they must outline in the statement their cultural involvement.
