The Gates Cambridge Scholarship is a full-cost scholarship and provides the following core benefits:

Full tuition fee coverage

Maintenance allowance of £21,000 per year

One economy single airfare at the beginning and end of the course

Inbound visa costs

Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS) costs

Discretionary Components of the Award

Depending on eligibility and circumstances, additional funding may be available for

• Academic development funding – up to £2,000
• Dependent Children Allowance – up to £11,604 for one child and up to £16,548 for two or more children, based on the stated 2023–24 rates
• Fieldwork allowance
• Maternity/Paternity funding
• Hardship funding for unforeseen difficulties faced by the Scholar
