Eligibility

  • To be eligible, an applicant must:-
  • hold a Ph.D. in Physical Sciences / Astronomy / Astrophysics (or thesis submitted before joining)
  • exceptionally bright in their academics
  • be under 32 years of age at the time of application
  • demonstrate high-quality research potential in observational, theoretical astrophysics, or astronomical instrumentation

Benefits

  • The selected candidates will receive the following benefits:-
  • A monthly fellowship of ₹75,000 for candidates with up to 2 years of post-doctoral experience and ₹80,000 for the ones who have experience of more than 2 years
  • An annual contingency grant of ₹2,00,000
  • Housing (subject to availability), medical, and other benefits under the prevailing rules of the institute
  • Travel support by economy airfare at the time of taking up the assignment

  • The post-doctoral fellowship committee will review the applications, and the selection will be made based on:
  • Research proposal quality and relevance.
  • Recommendation strength.
  • Alignment with IIA’s research programs.
