Young Faculty Research Fellowship 2025 is open to PhD students in the field of Science. This scholarship is provided by Visvesvaraya PhD Cell, Digital India Corporation, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India and the value of this scholarship is An annual fellowship of up to ₹7,50,000.

Eligibility

  • To be eligible, an applicant must:-
  • be an Indian citizen
  • be below 40 years of age till the date of application submission
  • have obtained a first-class PhD degree from a recognised university
  • hold a regular position in an institute

Benefits

  • The selected fellows will receive the following benefits:-
  • Research fellowship of ₹20,000 per month (in addition to the regular salary).
  • Research contingency grant of ₹5,00,000 per annum for a maximum period of 5 years.

How to Apply

Eligible candidates can apply for the scholarship through the following steps:-

  1. 1Click on the 'Apply Now' button below.
  2. 2Click on the 'Register' button and fill in the required registration details ( Note: - If already registered, log in using Gmail/Mobile number/Email ID).
  3. 3The applications for YFRFs have to be submitted by the eligible institutions when they are notified by the Ph.D. Cell, DIC; MeitY.
  4. 4The applicant should take a printout of the application form hosted on the institute's website.
  5. 5The applicant should duly fill in the mandatory fields of the application form and attach the required self-attested documents.
  6. 6Email the application form to the Nodal Officer of the institute with the subject line “Visvesvaraya Application of [Your Name]”.

Selection Process

Candidates will be selected based on merit and fulfilment of the eligibility criteria.
