The Housing Support Fund is provided by the University to address urgent student housing needs. If you are a current student threatened with homelessness owing to financial hardship, well-being reasons, or other circumstances beyond your control, you should apply for help.

Eligibility for the Housing Support Fund

Applicants must: Be a currently registered student at the University of Strathclyde; and Demonstrate that receiving the fund will significantly support their ability to continue studies; and Have an urgent housing need that can be resolved through a fund award; and Be unable to meet immediate housing costs through existing financial resources.

Application Process

All eligible candidates must complete and submit the Application for Financial Support form. They must include all the relevant documents required to support the application.

Value of the Fund

  • The level of award will be judged on a case to case basis.
  • Awards are around £300-£500 and are intended to meet immediate short term housing need.
  • Because of this the fund cannot be used to replace a regular income.
  • Awards will normally be made in the form of a grant.
