The Harry Wong Scholarship and Jane Evans Scholarship are available to bachelor's degree students who will be rising juniors or new transfer students starting in Fall 2023 at San José State University (SJSU). These scholarships are specifically for students enrolled in any major within the College of Engineering. To be eligible, students must maintain a minimum 3.0 SJSU cumulative GPA and 2.7 major GPA. Preference for the Harry Wong Scholarship is given to students who have faced hardship in their lives, while the Jane Evans Scholarship favors students majoring in Electrical Engineering (EE), Computer Engineering (CMPE), or Software Engineering (SE). Value and Benefits Harry Wong Scholarship

  • $7,500 per year Available to students in any major within the College of Engineering Preference for students who have faced personal hardship.
  • Jane Evans Scholarship:$7,500 per year Preference for students majoring in Electrical Engineering (EE), Computer Engineering (CMPE), or Software Engineering (SE).
  • Both scholarships are designed to assist students in completing their engineering education and are renewable for up to two years as long as the student remains in good standing and continues to meet eligibility requirements.

How to Apply

  • Full-time Enrollment: Applicants must be enrolled full-time in the College of Engineering at SJSU.
  • GPA Requirements: Students must maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA and a 2.7 major GPA.
  • Scholarship Consideration: Students are automatically considered for all scholarships in the College of Engineering for which they are eligible.
  • One Scholarship Per Year: Each student may receive only one scholarship from the College of Engineering in a given year.
