The Kenneth B Cumberland Prize in Geography was established by subscription from past and present students and associates as a tribute to Professor K B Cumberland on his retirement in 1978 after holding the foundation Chair in Geography since 1949.

• Eligibility Criteria for the Kenneth B. Cumberland Prize in Geography at the University of Auckland 2025: Applicants must be master's students in Geography.
• Applicants must have the best thesis from the year preceding the award. Applicants must meet sufficient merit criteria for the award to be granted.
• Value of the Kenneth B. Cumberland Prize in Geography at the University of Auckland 2025: The value of the prize will be $600.
