The Kilpatrick Research Excellence Prize was established in 2017 to honor Associate Professor Judy Kilpatrick upon her retirement as the foundation Head of School. It recognizes and rewards outstanding research excellence in a Master of Nursing or Master of Health Sciences (Nursing) thesis or research portfolio within the School of Nursing at Waipapa Taumata Rau.

Eligibility for Kilpatrick Research Excellence Publication Award

• Be enrolled in the School of Nursing, Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences, University of Auckland.
• Have completed a Master of Nursing thesis or research portfolio or a Master of Health Sciences thesis or research portfolio in Nursing.
• Have achieved the highest marks among eligible students in the year of the award.
• Have attained at least an A- grade as a minimum standard.

Value of Kilpatrick Research Excellence Publication Award

• $2,000 NZD, plus A commemorative plaque, presented at a School of Nursing ceremony.
• Application Process: There is no direct application by students.
• Eligible candidates are nominated internally based on academic performance in their thesis or research portfolio.
