This award recognizes academic excellence, research, and resolution at the Design Thesis level.

Eligibility for the Bates Smart Award

• Applicants must be enrolled in the Master of Architecture (single or combined).
• Candidates should have completed the Design Thesis (ABPL90169) or its successor. Students need to be classified as Domestic/International students.

Selection Criteria

• Shortlisted students will be contacted after thesis moderation.
• The students may be required to deliver a brief presentation of their work to the selection panel.
• Eligible recipients will be assessed on the thesis that best demonstrates excellence in research and resolution.
• Application Process: No application is required.
• Students will be automatically considered for this award upon enrollment with the university.
