Eligibility Criteria for Teacher Training Bursaries 2026

  • Applicants must: Be accepted on a tuition-fee-based postgraduate Initial Teacher Training (ITT) course that leads to QTS in England.
  • Train to teach an eligible subject.
  • Be eligible for UK student finance support.
  • Have one of the following academic qualifications: Bachelor’s degree with at least 2:2 honours (or higher) Master’s degree PhD If the course combines subjects, at least 50% of the content must be in the bursary subject.
