The endowed scholarship was created in 2016 by the Howard C. Christiansen Trust.

• Eligibility for the Howard C. Christiansen Endowed Scholarship at California State University: The applicant must be in good academic standing.
• The applicant must demonstrate exceptional academic achievement, with a CGPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
• The candidate must provide proof of their need for financial aid, as assessed by the university office of financial assistance.
• The candidate must be enrolled full-time in any engineering major at a CSU campus as an undergraduate or graduate student.
• The applicant must remain a full-time equivalent student at CSU during the academic year.
