Eligibility Criteria for Graduate Dean's Merit Scholarships

• Applicants must: Be fully admitted to a degree-granting doctoral or master’s program (Ph.D., doctorate, MFA, or master’s) at the University of Nevada, Reno.
• Be either: Incoming graduate students, or Currently enrolled graduate students in a degree-granting program Meet the minimum admission requirements for the chosen program without an exception-to-policy.
• Maintain satisfactory academic progress for financial aid.
• Enroll in 6 or more units per semester (fall and spring).
• Graduate assistants and non-graduate assistants are eligible.

Value of Graduate Dean's Merit Scholarships

New admits: $10,000 per academic year ($5,000 per semester) Continuing students: $5,000 per academic year ($2,500 per semester)

• Nominations are required to be submitted by the Graduate Program Director.
• Nomination Deadlines (2026): Spring nominations (incoming students only): 28 Jan – 17 Feb 2026 23 Feb – 16 Mar 2026 Fall nominations: 10 Aug 2026
