The Manuel Gelman Award for Teaching Excellence recognizes a student in the Master of Teaching (Secondary) who excels in teaching languages and takes into account the attainments of the candidate as a teacher, academic achievements in the Languages Learning Area, and financial need.

Eligibility for the Manuel Gelman Award for Teaching Excellence (Languages)

• Applicants must be enrolled in the Master of Teaching (Secondary) at the Melbourne Graduate School of Education in the language learning area.
• Applicants must fulfill the admission requirements set by the university.

Selection Criteria

• Eligible applicants will be assessed on the grounds of academic merit and financial disadvantage Academic merit will take into account the Languages Learning Area subjects and the Clinical Teaching Practice subjects
• The results of the Student Financial Assessment Form will determine financial disadvantage.

A single cash payment of up to $5,000.
